Important News From our Alderman

We received this information from our Alderman Matt O'Shea:

This Friday, August 19th, Chicago Police Officer Danny Golden will be coming home from the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab. The Chicago Police Department and other law enforcement agencies are going to be escorting Danny Golden home and we are asking Chicagoan’s to line the streets to show their support for our home town hero. The police escort will leave Shirley Ryan Ability Lab at 10:00am and travel the route below. Let’s line the route and show Officer Golden that Chicago is here for

  • Shirley Ryan Ability Lab east to Lake Shore Drive
  • Lake Shore Drive south to Dan Ryan Expressway (via I-55), exit at 31st Street
  • 31st Street west to Wells Street
  • Wells Street south to 33rd Street
  • 33rd Street west to Shields Avenue
  • Shields Avenue south to 35th Street
  • 35th Street east to Dan Ryan Expressway
  • Dan Ryan Expressway south to I-57, exit at Halsted Street
  • 99th Street west to Vincennes Avenue
  • Vincennes Avenue south to 103rd Street
  • 103rd Street west to Pulaski Road
  • Escort will end at Pulaski Road (family request)

Please share with friends and family throughout the City. Together we can show Danny Golden and his family that all Chicagoans are here to support them. To help with planning, I will be posting updates from the route via Facebook and Twitter.

Also, as a reminder, the 19th Ward Office (10400 S Western Ave) will have yard signs ($20) and a limited number of t-shirts ($25) supporting Danny available this Thursday, 3:00-5:00pm. Yard signs will also be available for purchase on Thursday evening at Munroe Park, 7:00-8:00pm during our free concert featuring Over the Side Band.
